LGD Web Content Management
Introduction
Justin worked at a Large Government Department to design and implement a Content Management system to support their Electronic Delivery channels and fit in with Cabinet Office guidelines (such as e-GIF, e-GMS etc.). This involved:
- Requirements capture and validation,
- Service charge cost-modelling,
- Defining service levels and the overall service definition,
- Process design and user role definition,
- As well as setting the management of change agenda.
Day-to-day activity involved:
- Interviews,
- Report writing,
- In addition to technical system design and specification, to allow the Department to orchestrate its communications with its stakeholders in a timely and innovative way.
Outcomes / difference
At the end of this exercise, the Govt. Dept. had
- A happier user base, who were able to look after their own web pages, independent of the webmaster team
- An easier to site to maintain and which has just been re-designed in a tight schedule
- A successful communications channel to support the business of the Department, and reduce enquiries to telephone helpline.
