Fujitsu GMS
Introduction
At the beginning of 2008, Justin worked on an internal requirements capture exercise, to specify conceptual requirements for a Fujitsu Global Management system.
Justin’s understanding of the strategic uses of technology, combined with a focus on business benefits, helped the internal Stakeholders understand the importance of an integrated programme of business change to support any tool implementation.
Activities included
- Understanding the subject matter and scope; clarifying same with Project Owner
- Interviewing stakeholders to gain their input and establish set of requirements
- Discuss draft requirements with Project Owner and Project Sponsor
Outcomes / How did you make a difference?
- High level properties / characteristics created and agreed for GMS.
- Understood the organisational and personal dynamics at play and that the unspoken desire of the stakeholders to improve collaboration was a key implicit driver of the assignment.
- Synthesised input from two different workstreams, thus creating buy-in and improving collaboration
- Learning point was to challenge Project Owner re scope and direction
